Our client wanted a very clean look for her living room [not pictured], but also wanted a very high performance media experience. To that end we used high performance in-wall speakers, including a pair of in wall subwoofers, but the more difficult task was remotely locating all the equipment while keeping it easy to use and access. To accomplish this we had the cabinet maker create a custom cabinet in the downstairs hallway that allowed for easy access to the main equipment rack, and also had a hidden shelf in the stairway wall adjacent to the living room so that the client could easily change discs. The door to this shelf provided the ventilation outlet for the cabinet, allowing the rack to be passively cooled, so no fans, no noise!
